Our Why

In 2021, Tim Walters was nominated to compete in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Man and Woman of the Year Campaign (MWOY) to raise money for critical blood cancer research, treatments, and patient and family care. Tim and his team jumped at the chance to support LLS, in honor of his father who, just months before this nomination, was diagnosed with Stage IV Mantle Cell Lymphoma. The team put their heads together to come up with ways to raise money (and perhaps relive childhood dreams), and thus the Wiffle for Walters Wiffleball Tournament was born! Every dollar raised from the tournament last year was donated to LLS through the Tim Walters’ MWOY campaign.

The wiffleball tournament raised close to $8,000 and in total, Tim Walters and his incredible team raised an amazing $48,000 for LLS!

We didn't know what to expect when the campaign began, we just knew we wanted to help raise money for those battling this awful disease. We were soon overwhelmed and moved by the generosity and support of everyone - family, friends (old and new), colleagues, neighbors, and so many more.

With the success of last year’s tournament and the great time we had seeing and reconnecting with so many of you, we want to keep it going with round two of Wiffle for Walters! Although it will be hard to top, we are striving to make this year's tournament bigger and better. More games, teams, prizes, and a goal of raising $10,000!

We continue to honor our father, Tim Walters, who is doing great in his battle against cancer. He is back to work 3 days a week, getting out more and more, and hopes to attend the tournament this year. Yes, we will put him to work (right next to the Keg maybe). However, this is also in honor of friends and family who have loved ones going through the same battle. Once again, every dollar we raise will go directly to the 2022 LLS MWOY campaign!
